Our mission is simple: To share the outdoor experience of the western United States and beyond with those who do not have regular access to outdoor recreation. We do this by providing our supporters and followers with airfare and a guided adventure to a predetermined destination on a monthly basis. What is the catch? There is none. We simply strive to provide opportunity for adventure in some of the most beautiful lands on earth and the chance to make memories that will last a lifetime. We do this in hopes of inspiring respect of not only nature, but also each other in the spirit of service and kindness, human to human.
My name is James and I fulfilled my dream of moving out west years ago. My experience in this beautiful landscape has brought to light many realizations about myself and the healing the outdoors can bring. Namely, I have realized that I am never happier than when I am in the mountains with people who appreciate the experience as much as I do. And secondly, the outdoors has played an important part in helping me conquer my own personal challenges with addiction and discovering what's most important in life.
All that said, I started West for the East in an effort to give others the chance to experience the same things that have been such a blessing to me. Whether it's depression, addiction, the loss of a loved one or the trauma that follows experience on the battlefield, I want to tell your story through the perspective of an adventure out west.
The hope, if anything, is that West for the East will inspire more kindness, generosity and understanding between us all.
